SINGLES DISCOGRAPHY

1963 (?)
Mark Feld (?)
Mrs. Jones
Acetate recorded with Joe Meek of one of Marc's own songs.   There is the possibility that he also may have recorded vocals for a version of "Telstar" with lyrics also with Joe Meek.
.

1964
Toby Tyler
The Road I'm On (Gloria)
(EMIDISC )

One-sided acetate, only two copies known. One passed down from June Bolan to Paul Sinclair (a.k.a. Paul Roland) and ending up in the hands of enthusiast Marc Arscott (see Mark Paytress, Twentieth Century Boy: The Marc Bolan Story, "Appendix 1") Producer is Jim Economedies. It has since been given wide release in 1989 on Archive Jive Records (TOBY 1).

1964
Toby Tyler
The Road I'm On (Gloria)/Blowin' In The Wind
(EMIDISC)

This acetate was auctioned in Sept. 1992 and was claimed by a winning bid of £4,200 . The A-side is identical to the previous entry and both tracks were recorded in Dec. of 1964 along with a version of "The Perfumed Garden of Gulliver Smith" at Maximum Sound Studios, 47 Dean St. London (ref. Rumblings Newsletter of the Tyrannosaurus Rex Appreciation Soc., Oct., 1991). According to the July and August 1991 issues of Record Collector, this was originally presented to a dee jay and has the name Marc Feld crossed out on the printed label and the name Toby Tyler handwritten over it.

1968?
Marc Bolan
Sleepy Maurice
(EMIDISC-SPOT)

According to Rumblings (Oct. 1991), this record is signed and credited to Marc Bolan but features Steve Peregrine Took on bongos, making it one of the earliest known Tyrannosaurus Rex recordings.

1968
Tyrannosaurus Rex
Hot Rod Momma/Sarah Crazy Child
(EMIDISC-SPOT)

Tracks are as they appear of the Beginning of Doves LP. This was to be the first Tyrannosaurus Rex single

1970
T. Rex
Ride A White Swan/Jewel, Summertime Blues
(Octopus, OCTO 1)

Octopus Records (an attempt to mimic the American Tarantula Label) had its name changed to Fly while trying to work out a distribution deal with Island Records. The deal fell through and Fly connected with EMI, who officially released the record as BUG 1. (See the letter by Malcolm Jones, who ran Fly Records then, in Record Collector #91, March 1987)
